The Department of Politics & International Relations at Mount Allison University invites applications for the McCain Post-Doctoral Fellow. We seek a political scientist whose research and teaching falls within the subfield of international relations. The one-year appointment will commence on July 1, 2022, subject to budgetary approval. Preference will be given to candidates who have recently completed a Ph.D. in Political Science, have an active research agenda and a commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching.
We seek candidates who will contribute broadly to the delivery of curriculum in the Department’s academic programs (Political Science, International Relations, Canadian Public Policy and Philosophy, Politics and Economics).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach the equivalent of four 3-credit courses. This includes POLS 2301 - Introduction to International Relations, two 3rd-year courses and one 4th-year special topics seminar in their field of expertise.
A complete application consists of one PDF document that includes: •    a cover letter; •    a Curriculum Vitae; •    a Teaching Dossier (teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness, sample course outlines); •    a statement of research interests.

The NAISA logo was designed by Jonathan Thunder, a Red Lake Ojibwe painter and digital artist from Minnesota. NAISA members inspired by canoe traditions among their own people sent examples to Thunder, who designed the logo with advice from the NAISA Council. The color scheme was chosen to signify those Indigenous peoples who are more land-based and do not have canoe traditions.
