We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2022, subject to budgetary approval. This position is designated for Indigenous persons and members of Racialized Communities only.The successful candidate will have or be close to completing a Ph.D. and should have a research and teaching profile in Modern US history (post-Civil War period). Particular area of expertise is open.  Particular area of research is open, with a preference for those studying ethnicity, race, and racism.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, as well as graduate courses in our Joint Master’s Program with the Department of History at the University of Manitoba. The candidate is expected to have a scholarly record and a developed research agenda. The candidate will perform administrative duties and engage in committee work.

The NAISA logo was designed by Jonathan Thunder, a Red Lake Ojibwe painter and digital artist from Minnesota. NAISA members inspired by canoe traditions among their own people sent examples to Thunder, who designed the logo with advice from the NAISA Council. The color scheme was chosen to signify those Indigenous peoples who are more land-based and do not have canoe traditions.
