ROLE of the POSITION

 

The successful candidate will teach existing Indigenous/American Indian/Native American/First Nations history courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level and propose new courses in their areas of specialization. We encourage applications from candidates with robust scholarly research and publication agendas who are also interested in community engagement. UNLV is situated on the traditional homelands of the Nuwu (Southern Paiute people), and we value knowledge of the Indigenous nations that have stewarded these lands from time immemorial, including the Las Vegas Band of Paiutes and the Moapa Band of Paiutes. UNLV is a member of the Newberry Consortium of American Indian Studies (NCAIS). We welcome candidates who can contribute to the American Indian and Indigenous Studies Minor administered through the Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies Department.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position requires a Ph.D., in History or related interdisciplinary fields from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Candidates who are in ABD status will be considered, though Ph.D. must be obtained prior to the start date.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.
