Indigenous Internationalisms

Aanii NAISA community! Check out the Borders in Globalization_Lab’s summer institutes, happening this summer at the University of Victoria. Particularly, the Indigenous Internationalisms summer institute, led by Dr. Jeff Ganohalidoh Corntassel, Cherokee Nation. The Indigenous Internationalisms summer institute is a short three day intensive course, from July 27, 28, and 29, 2026. This institute will examine the ways that Indigenous nations are expressing their relationships to lands and waters through complex diplomacies and forms of engagement, as well as their experiences with state border crossings. Drawing on Indigenous peoples’ perspectives across Turtle Island and beyond, each session will include short lectures, discussion, and an examination of case studies. The course offering is available for both in person and virtual options. For more information, please email: bigindig@uvic.ca. Miigwech!
