Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Hispanic Studies at Bowdoin College
Bowdoin College’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in Hispanic Studies at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2025. The Department seeks a candidate who can teach advanced courses in poetry and whose scholarship focuses on genres other than prose (e.g. poetry, theater and performance, or visual media), with preferred intersections in the fields of popular and mass culture, environmental studies, and/or indigenous cultural production. The teaching load is four courses per year. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. A PhD is expected by the date of appointment. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
