The UCSB Division of Social Science is also conducting a separate search for the inaugural director of the Center for Feminist Futures at the Associate or Full professor rank (https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/JPF02103). Building on a long tradition of outstanding research and teaching on gender and sexuality at UCSB, the Center will bring together scholars and students to engage in and disseminate publicly facing research that moves us toward gender justice. For this director position, department affiliation is open, with a preference for at least 50% appointment in the Department of Feminist Studies. |
The Department of Feminist Studies is home to the Hull Chair, the first endowed chair in women’s studies in the University of California system, and has ten full-time faculty members and numerous affiliated faculty members in the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts, Division of Social Sciences, and Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.
