Job Summary:

The American Indian & Indigenous Studies Program (AIIS) seeks a dynamic professional to join our team as a non-tenure-track Teaching Professor. This position will teach two 3-credit courses per semester and one to two 3-credit summer courses. In addition, they will serve as the academic advisor for students pursuing a certificate in AIIS.

In addition to home departments, advisors in L&S are a part of an active advising community and interdependent system. During the academic year, L&S advisors meet monthly as a consortium for information sharing and ongoing training. All L&S advisors also contribute to the campus Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) program, for a couple weeks in summer and a few days in January, to advise new L&S first-year and transfer students.

• PhD in American Indian & Indigenous Studies, or closely related field.

Qualifications:

• At least 7 years experience teaching at the college level and supervising teaching assistants.
• Experience with curriculum development and evaluation.
• Experience advising students.

Salary:

Minimum $72,220 ANNUAL (12 months)

The typical starting salary for this position is $72,220 - $100,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.
